Pool

Pool Manager: Bernadette Benik and Michelle Henkle  The pool is generally open between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For the safety of residents, a lifeguard is on duty during pool hours. The hours may be extended for private parties.The pool rules and registration forms are distributed to all residents before the season begins. Residents who need additional copies of the rules or registration forms may request them from Brodie Management. Guests are permitted when accompanied by a resident host. Please sign in with the lifeguard. Hours — Normal Season Hours — the pool opens at 4 p.m. on Mondays, at noon Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  The pool closes at 8 p.m.

Pool Registration Submission

DREAMS LANDING CONDOMINIUM SWIMMING POOL AND POOL RECREATION ROOM RULES THE POOL MANAGER AND/OR LIFEGUARD WILL BE RESPONSIBLE, AND HAVE CONCLUSIVE AUTHORITY, FOR INTERPRETING AND ENFORCING THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS.

Definitions

1. Resident: “One who currently is living in Dreams Landing and who, in most instances, lives here at least two (2) months of the year, usually for at least weeks at a time.”

NOTE: When landlords rent their units, the status of resident passes to the tenant. Owners of units that are rented may not use the common elements, including the pool, except as guests (see Bylaws).

2. Guest: An invited visitor to a particular Dreams Landing residence and in the company of that resident.

Authorized Use

3. Use of the pool and recreation room is restricted to residents of Dreams Landing and their guests. So that the lifeguard may prevent unauthorized use, only those residents whose names appear on the official pool roster may use these facilities. The official roster is maintained by the pool manager. A resident who wishes his/her name added to the official roster should contact the pool manager.

Guest Policy

4. Guests are limited to 4 per household and only residents have the privilege of signing guests into the pool.

5. Guests may use the pool only when accompanied by their resident hosts.

6. Resident hosts must introduce their guests to the lifeguard.

7. Any questions pertaining to the identity of those using the pool should be directed solely to the lifeguard to avoid embarrassment to the guest and the resident host.

8. Any resident seeking exception to the Guest Policy for guests should contact the pool manager. All approved guests for whom exception has been granted must be introduced to the lifeguard. House guests need not be accompanied by resident hosts when visiting the pool; however, house guests may not sign in other guests.

Safety

9. Diving: a. One person on the board at a time. b. Do not dive until the previous diver has reappeared and has cleared the area. c. Dive in a forward direction only, and not from the side of the board. d. Bounce once on the board, then swim directly away from the diving area.

10. Children under eight (8) years of age must be accompanied by one of their parents or another adult while in the pool area, regardless of the child’s swimming ability.

11. Parents of non-swimmers must assume responsibility for watching their children using the pool, regardless of age.

12. At the discretion of the lifeguard, any person using the pool may be required to take the basic swimming test.

13. Food and beverage must be in non-breakable containers and will be permitted only in the designated areas.

14. Toys, inflatable equipment, and underwater gear will be permitted in the pool only at the discretion of the lifeguard.

15. Running, pushing, wrestling, or other undue disturbance in the pool or on the pool deck are PROHIBITED at all times.

Damage

16. The cost of any damage to the pool or related areas will be charged to and paid for by the resident responsible for that damage.

17. Damage by guests to the pool or related areas will be charged to and paid for by the resident responsible for those guests.

General Policy

18. All residents and guests are required to sign the log when entering the pool area.

19. Residents are responsible for the conduct of their household members and their guests.

20. Use of abusive or profane language and all other forms of unruly and unsafe conduct is prohibited.

21. Parents are to ensure that their children understand all the rules and cooperate with the lifeguard.

22. Persons using the pool should shower first.

23. Babies in diapers will not be allowed in the pool.

24. Bathing suits must be worn. Cutoffs and other street wear will not be permitted in the pool.

25. Smoking is not permitted within the fenced pool area.

26. Radios must be kept at a volume which will not impose on other persons within the pool area.

27. Gum is not permitted in the pool area.

28. Pets are not permitted in the pool area.

29. Bathers must stay off the rope separating the deep and shallow areas of the pool.

30. Organized sports such as volleyball will be permitted with prior approval of the Pool Manager.

Private Parties

31. Private parties involving the pool or the pool recreation room will be confined to hours other than when the pool is open for general community use. Those wishing to have a private party should check the pool bulletin board for date availability and then contact the pool manager for details governing parties at least three weeks before the desired date.
